A Terrorist Atrosity started
A Day of INFAMY
Terrorist's hijacked four airplanes in the USA filled with
passengers and crashed two of them into the World Trade
Center Towers in New York City, crashing the third into
the pentagon in Washington D.C., and the fourth hijacked
plane crashed down in a field in Pennsylvania, with the
heroic passengers trying to take back control of the plane.
Thousands are killed in New York including hundreds of
firefighters and policemen, and the heros of those passengers
on the planes that died. We honour you and we shall not
forget you ,as we feel shock and grief. It is sadly ironic how
it takes horrific events to place things into perspective,
but it has. The lessons learned this week, the things
we have taken for granted, the things that have been
forgotten or overlooked,
hopefully will never be forgotten again.
"Changes that have been made from Monday a day we
took for granted,to Tuesday Sept.11 when the world
lost our innocence."
What A Difference A Day Makes....
"On Monday we emailed jokes
On Tuesday we did not
On Monday we thought that we were secure
On Tuesday we learned better
On Monday we were talking about heroes as being athletes
On Tuesday we relearned who our real heroes are
On Monday people were upset that they had to wait
6 minutes in a supermarket line
On Tuesday people didn't care about waiting up to
6 hours to give blood for the dying
On Monday we waved our flags signifying our
cultural diversity
On Tuesday we waved only the American flag
On Monday there were people trying to separate
each other by race, sex, color and creed
On Tuesday they were all holding hands
On Monday we were men or women, black or white,
old or young, rich or poor,Christian or non
Christian.
On Tuesday we were Americans
On Monday politicians argued about budget
surpluses
On Tuesday, grief stricken, they sang 'God Bless
America'
On Monday the President was going to Florida to
read to children
On Tuesday he returned to Washington to protect
our children
On Monday we had families
On Tuesday we had orphans
On Monday people argued with their kids about
cleaning up their room
On Tuesday the same people could not get home fast
enough to hug their kids
On Monday people went to work as usual
On Tuesday they died and or grieved
On Monday people were fighting the 10 commandments
on government property
On Tuesday the same people all said 'God help us
all' while thinking 'Thou shall not kill'
To those who worry for friends or loved ones, here
is something we hope and pray may ease your pain:
"Dante's Prayer"
When all the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone.
I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the
stars.
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me.
Then the mountains rose before me
By the deep well of desire
From the fountain of forgiveness
Beyond the ice and the fire.
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me.
Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the light of the stars.
Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above these earthly cares.
Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me.
(music and lyrics by Loreena McKennitt)
This Memorial page was created for my dear, loving
and special friend Hal. His thoughts, love and
emotions are felt as this worlds nightmare has
effected him and his life and the grief he feels
for all whose lives can never be replaced. Nor the
world will ever be the same, with what Hal calls,
"Terrorist Atrosity, A Day of INFAMY
September 11, 2001"
This page is a combination of both our love sent
to everyone, and sharing in your heartache.
Our Sincerest best wishes,
Hal W.from Canada and Cathy A.from the UK
